Sauteed Brussel Sprouts

Reader Submitted Recipe

Margaret here. Long time reader, first time submitter...
Most people don't like brussels sprouts. But they are the ones that have had a negative experience, or worse, have a friend or family member who had one. I say that is worse, because these people go on to tell you how awful and evil and disgusting, these green little wonders are, how they were forced to eat these stinky mushy brain-like veggies, and so on. The thing is, those people are wrong. AND the people who prepared the brussels sprouts for those poor victims are even more wrong.
The point I am trying to make here is that if done right, almost anything can be the best food you have ever tasted. Even my husband and children agree that "Hey, these are not nearly as bad as all that!" In fact, they rather like them...

What a delicious and simple meal. It came together swiftly, was exotic and flavourful. Sautéed peppers and onions with skewered chicken...Fantastic!

BBQ-Baked Cast-Iron-Pan Meatloaf

Original Comfort Food

Posted on October 17, 2011
What a weekend.
It was cold and rainy, like I mean REALLY rainy. So I wanted comfort food this weekend. Looking through the freezer to see what I had on hand, I discovered some ground meat. Though I was sore tempted to make some delicious meatballs or, even better, burgers, I went with something down home and super comfort. Meatloaf. But you can't have meatloaf without mashed potatoes and gravy, oh and I guess you can throw some veggies in there too...

BBQ Seasoning

Really this is a Ted Reader signature seasoning. If you’re really lucky and see him live at a show like the Cottage Life show, then you can go to his booth and buy some. BUT when you run out and need more, here is the recipe to make it yourself.
